I figure it must be some configuration setting somewhere but I can't figure out what! It's weird that it's just with the Calligraphy tool in Inkscape - absolutely everything else works fine. From the list of devices, select Bamboo Ink and click on Pair. Hold the top button for 6 seconds then the Blue LED will start blinking.
HOW TO CONNECT BAMBOO PEN TO LAPTOP BLUETOOTH
She doesn't have the same problem with the tablet that I have with the pen. From the Windows Start menu, select Settings> Devices > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is On. I don't have a graphic tablet, the pen works directly on the laptop screen, and behaves more or less like a mouse.įor comparison, my daughter does have a tablet connected to her macbook and it appears as a second input device. Sorry I wasn't clear about the input devices! On my laptop, with a mouse and the Bamboo pen, all I have in Input Devices in Core Pointer, like you. So yeah, the stoke doesn't appear exactly where I started drawing. It should be the same as clicking and dragging with the mouse, with starts the stroke immediately. After the nib has travelled a consistent distance, the caligraphy stroke begins where the nib is now, not where the nib started. I mean I put the nib of the pen on the screen, press and start to draw. Yeah, I played with the Mass value so I know what you mean, but I've left it at the default of 2. So maybe you don't have it set up right? Do you have pressure sensitivity? I have no idea what the graphic tablet device would look like there. So you must be seeing 2 input devices in the Input Device dialog? Or do you mean that you "unplug" the tablet, to be able to use the mouse?įor me, without a tablet, I only see "Core Pointer" in the Input Devices dialog. It's probably because I'm not a tablet user, but I'm a little confused with your description, about the pen not appearing as a separate input device, but it shows up as the mouse. But when I see it, it starts where I started.īut if you mean that the stroke is not ending up exactly where you started drawing, that would be a serious problem! Just to clarify, you mean it's about 10 px distance before you see the stroke appear? Or do you mean the stroke doesn't start where you want, but 10 px away?įor me, it's maybe a half second between starting the stroke and seeing it.

Although I'm not a tablet user, so maybe it's not a fair comparison. I notice a lag if I have a high Mass value on the Calligraphy tool control bar.
